75th Moth Anniversary
IMCA-NSW put together a day of sailing, bbq’s and reminiscing at
Balmoral over the weekend to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the
class.
There were close to 20 boats attending, ranging from scows, to
Hungry Tigers, to Stevo’s week-old foiler. Wardi didn’t bring his
top secret wingless scow foiler, however several spy photos in the
club gave a pretty good indication of the general
configuration.
The boats raced in several short le mans handicap races, with close
finishes thanks to the wonderful work of the impromptu
handicapper!
Lots of Mothie champions attended the BBQ, including Shimeld,
Lazich, Hebden & Thorpe. Plenty of talk about the past, and
plenty of talk about what the future holds for flying Moths.
A few photos of the event included.
