Go fly a kite

Wednesday, December 8th, 2004

Nice photo of the AAPT trialling its
new kite. I wonder how all the 18
sailors on board are going to go controlling this thing on the trip
to Hobart!

Schnackenberg gets dropped from TNZ

Saturday, December 4th, 2004

Tom Schnackenberg, one of the most successful designers in the
America’s Cup has become
surplus
to requirements for Team New
Zealand.

Amazing that they can let go of a nuclear physicist and sail
designer who is a walking, talking
encylopaedia on the America’s Cup.
Interesting move indeed.

I guess Tom has already got a call from Oracle and Alinghi (if not Prada) for his services…
even if its only to warm the design bench for a few mil a
year.

It was a good idea to come back

summer… not much point in being in Europe at the moment… let
alone Silvaplana!
