Garda Euros

Racing started yesterday for the Moth European Championships. In
unusual Lake Garda conditions, the Ora didn’t blow as expected…
but then the regatta is being run from Campione, past Malcesene…
and the wind is nowhere near as strong there as Riva/Torbole.

Rohan looks to be struggling
to find his World’s form, finishing 4th & 3rd in the first 2
races. Brits Simon Payne & Adam May share the lead with a 1st
& 2nd each. Not exactly sure what his reasons are… maybe it’s
since he’s only had the new foiler for a week… maybe it’s the
smaller MSL10… maybe the others have improved… hmmm…

The weather here of course has been ordinary (usual for this time
of the year). Despite having sunny and warm days, there’s been no
wind. Not great conditions for foiling. Things will improve in the
next month for sure… they’d better by the time the Brass Monkey
regatta rolls around… and maybe the Moths wont be the only foilers
there!
