Winning the pre-event regatta
I’m really not one for superstition. But then the last few Worlds
have lived up to the theory - you shouldn’t win the pre-event
event.
Dave and I won both the UK Nationals in 2004 and the US Nationals
in 2005, then lost the Worlds both years. Silja and I lost the UK
Nationals this year but won the Worlds.
Howie and Euan have just won the
International 14 US Nationals in Long Beach. The event was just
a tune-up event for the US teams prior to the Worlds which start on
the 5th of September. They won with 6 wins from 8 races, so it’s
not like they just scraped through.
Superstition… not worth shite… hmmm
