Early birds
It takes a special person to be on the water at 7am on a raining Autumn morning. But we’ve luckily got a bunch of special people around.
Marty, Phil and I hit the water on Friday for a quick session with our enthusiastic coach before work, then we were back again at 7am on Saturday with John & Ben.
By Saturday afternoon’s races, I was pretty well stuffed, and Phil in my old boat beat me in 2 of 3 races. Capsizing for a lap to fix spreaders in the first race probably didn’t help my cause, and the early foiling Prowler with his 60kgs on board didn’t hurt in the little wind that blew for the last race, but they’re all just excuses.
The Bladerider team will be back on the water in Sydney when Nathan returns from Holland this week, and then there’s a bit of a tune up session planned in Melbourne with Amac. So there’s plenty to do.

My next invention will be a camel back you can put coffee in, that stays warm out on the water.
