Last days of Winter
The last weekend of Moth Worlds prep in Sydney has been and gone, thankfully. I’m well tired of low-riding at this point, having spent close to a month in almost exclusively sea-hugging mode.
Perfect preparation for a windy Worlds.
Rohan did join in for the weekend, spending Friday blasting around in good breeze and deciding – rightly – not to hit the water on a no-wind Saturday.
But at least the boat is all boxed up and ready to go, along with Nathan’s tomorrow. I won’t have to subject myself to too much more miserable light wind (although it has still been sunny and relatively warm).
The last threads of boatwork are being quickly tidied up, adding to the ongoing list of gear additions, mods, fixes and preventative maintenance.
It’s pretty remarkable to think back to 2007 and the cardboard boxes John & I sent to Garda with our stock standard X8s. Now the box is absolutely stocked with gear and spares, hardly a single component remains unmodified in some (albeit minor) way.
Next stop the Gorge.
